Ganpati Bappa Morya !

Day before yesterday, we all celebrated Ganpati Visarjan which is a part of the Lord Ganesha’s festival. We were busy preparing Prasaad since morning that day which included Modak, Chana Dal, Kheer, Nariyal Ke Pede, Fruits and many more.

This festival is celebrated with much enthusiasm in Indore. I think the reason for this is that in Indore there are more Maharashtrian families than any other place of Madhya Pradesh. With the grace of the Bappa, Indore and nearby region was blessed with rains that day and it’s been raining since. I had visited nearby temple called Nath Mandir on Ganesha Chaturthi and the temple was decorated beautifully.

Tranquility of Village

Dear All,

First of all, let me start writing this post by apologizing to you all for coming back after so many days. I was going through several steps of computer rejig that were pending for the last few months. In the mean time, many important days have also come and gone, and yes, belated happy independence day to you.

Everything is set now and after such a rigorous task, I was looking for a change that I found in going for a trip to a nearby village with my family and believe me, I took a very decent decision. Weather of the Malwa Region, that day, was so generous that we enjoyed the entire day. We were so close to the nature (please see photographs). Serene beauty of the nature and farms was completely out of this world. We also stopped on a cabbage and maize farms en route to the village. Smell of roasted corns with lemon and salt was priceless. We did enjoy some of the different varieties of corn that are sown in this region in considerable amount. I was felling disenchantment with the urban life.

If you can, then please give yourself a surprise by deciding on a holiday to go to a nearby village and enjoy the abyss beauty of nature and lives of persons there.

Rain in Indore – Update 3

Whoosh! Last 15 hours were just amazing as Indore witnessed a 10 year record breaking rainfall. Starting right in the morning, up to night, God blessed Indore with its showers. Met Dept. has recorded 9 inches of rainfall in just a span of 15 hours. This morning, Indore was in news everywhere (in almost all national news channels) showing its water logging problems spread on the entire city. For the last few years except 2003, Mini Mumbai was struggling with water shortage but I think this year has come as a blessing in disguise though the rain started a little late. Now, as it has picked up its speed a few more days of rain will let people enjoy their life with Chaai and Bhajiye other than usual problems of the season.

Amazed by Solar Eclipse

The eclipse blacked out Indore city as soon as the Sun rose. We were not fortunate enough to witness the solar eclipse as the weather was completely cloudy but saw the exquisite beauty of the eclipse through the light of the Sun that was diminishing with time. The complete eclipse in Indore struck at 6:21 AM sharp. It was raining cats and dogs since last night and recorded the most rainfall in the last couple of days.

I woke up in the morning at 5.30 as I didn’t want to miss this celestial event (especially when the next eclipse is scheduled for after more than 100 years) , and was also thrilled. I caught every moment of the eclipse in my camera. To share with you all, below are picture of the eclipse (time lapsed) and how did Indore see it.

Rain in Indore – Update

It’s been raining in Indore continuously for the last two days and Met Dept. has recorded almost 13 inches of rain till now. The weather is really beautiful now but there are water logging problems in some parts of the city.
